Exmoor National Park
You can see Exmoor clearly from Greendown Farm. Only a 20 minute drive away, through South Molton and you’ll be on the foothills of Exmoor and your adventures! There is so much to see and do on Exmoor there is something for all the family, whether you are looking for a relaxing walk or action packed cycle, Exmoor has it all!
Exmoor has a unique landscape of moorland, woodland, valleys and farmland which is largely untouched. Ideal to get away from it all!

Beaches & Coastline
We are blessed with the best beaches in the UK, with out a doubt! Woolacombe is a blue flag beach and is a great day out for the family. Saunton Sand and Croyde are where the surfers go, and Saunton is perfect for a long walk. We also have Westward Ho and its unique pebble ridge perfect for bucket and spades or a nice walk in the evening. We cannot forget Instow Beach either which is a smaller beach alongside the estuary and is worth visiting in the evening to watch the boats. Most beaches are within a 30 min drive away from Greendown Farm.
The South West Coast Path
A 30 minute drive and you’ll find yourself on the South West Coast Path. There is no set way or direction to walk the path but we are lucky to have some amazing walks along from Lynmouth all the way to Westward Ho! There is so much to see and do along the coast path, from visiting towns like Ilfracombe and Woolacombe, Go at your own pace and don’t forget to take your camera!

South Molton is a small market town only a 5 minute drive away from Greendown Farm. Also known as the Gateway to Exmoor, South Molton hosts a traditional craft and produce market every Thursday and Saturday morning which is well worth a visit. There is also a lovely range of independent shops selling a lovely range of local produce. If you have a young family Quince Honey Farm is worth a visit as well as the Town Museum.
Cobbaton Combat Museum
Cobbaton Combat Collection is a Military museum and tourist attraction only 10 mins away from Greendown Farm. This collection covers mostly World War Two and the years 1939 – 1945, but with exhibits from the Boer War right up to the First Gulf War. There is a large selection of tanks, guns, helmets, artillery, grenades, and bombs to Home Front ration books, gas masks, ARP and Home Guard uniforms and blackout lamps.
On site is a large shop stocking collectors’ items, inert ammunition, clothing, hats, badges, survival equipment, books, CDs, toys, souvenirs and much more.

Barnstaple is North Devon’s largest town in which you’ll find great bars, great restaurants and big name high street shopping. There is also a wide range of independent boutique shops within the town, lots of local food producers and plenty of history. Barnstaple has a great mix of modern and traditional and is highly recommended to visit for day.
